bottles and cans recounts daniel eduardo martinez's life journey, detailing his struggles with alcohol, relationships, and the pursuit of his culinary career. through personal anecdotes and reflections, it is an exploration of addiction, redemption, and the quest for identity--from arizona to texas, to new york and back again to arizona: a testament to the often tangled morass of life and the spirit of those who strive to overcome imperfect and sometimes terrible circumstance.

the concept? the interconnectedness of society, especially those we DON'T know: the man or woman you pass in the grocery store; the individuals involved in the car accident you're currently rubbernecking...the serial killer you didn't know lived just down the street, presently descending into madness as he grapples with the implications of his actions.
